Hunter x Hunter Greed Adventure Smartphone Game Ends Service on January 14
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on November 13 that it will end service on the Hunter x Hunter Greed Adventure smartphone game based on Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter X Hunter manga on January 14. The game will halt sales of in-game items "G-Stones" on December 10.
The game launched in Japan on December 5, 2018. The 3D action role-playing game is free to play, with in-game purchases available.
The game takes place after the manga's "Greed Island" arc, after Gon and his friends have cleared Greed Island, and after the evolution of the main leadership at the Hunter Association. The game takes place in a new "Greed Island 2" (G.I.2) game that was rebuilt from the original "Greed Island" to train Hunters.
The game features the original character Sofika, voiced by Sora Tokui. She is a mysterious girl who has some relation to the Game Master of G.I.2, and who joins Gon and Killua on their journey. The game features new story as well as story from the original manga. Battles are touch-based, and players can summon characters from the franchise and use skill cards.
The Hunter X Hunter anime staff cooperated on the game's worldview, original characters, and setting.
