The official Monster Hunter YouTube channel began streaming a trailer on Tuesday for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the new expansion for the Monster Hunter World game. The video reveals that CAPCOM will add the monster Rajang in the game's first free title update in October.
The channel is also streaming a video last Thursday that highlights the monster Zinogre. The video includes footage of Namielle, a new Elder Dragon monster.
The expansion will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Friday and for PC via Steam in January 2020. The expansion will feature a new story that begins after the events of the main game, as well as new quest ranks, locales, monsters, moves, and equipment.
Monster Hunter World launched worldwide on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January 2018, and shipped 5 million copies worldwide (including digital sales) in its first three days to set a new franchise record. CAPCOM then launched the game for PC last August. The game has shipped 12 million copies worldwide as of May 10. The Monster Hunter series has cumulatively shipped 54 million copies worldwide as of March 31.
