posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
CAPCOM began streaming a trailer for the PC version of its Monster Hunter: World game on Monday. The trailer reveals the game's August 9 release date on the PC via Steam.
Those who pre-order the game will receive the Origin Armor Set and Fair Wind Charm in-game items.
Monster Hunter: World launched worldwide on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26, and shipped 5 million copies worldwide (including digital sales) in its first three days to set a new franchise record. The game has shipped over 8 million copies worldwide.
The new game is an open world game that no longer has the previous games' loading screens in between areas, and thus no longer allows players to use zone transitions as safe zones. The game has a "living ecosystem" that allows players to use and destroy elements of the environment, and use monster behaviors against other monsters.
The Monster Hunter game series debuted in 2004, and as of March 5 has sold a total of more than 48 million copies.
