The May issue of Ichijinsha's Comic Zero Sum magazine revealed on Thursday that Kazuya Minekura's Saiyuki Reload Blast manga will resume in the July issue on May 28. The manga went on hiatus in the magazine in the December 2017 issue.
Saiyuki Reload Blast is the sequel to Minekura's Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload manga series. She launched the series in Comic Zero Sum in 2009 but slowed down her publication of the manga in 2013 due to her health. The manga's third compiled book volume, the series' first in three years, shipped in October 2017.
The Saiyuki Reload Blast anime adaptation premiered in July 2017, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Funimation offered a simuldub.
The Saiyuki manga series has also spawned the Saiyuki Gaiden and Saiyuki Ibun manga spinoffs, as well as three television anime series, an anime film, three OVA series, and stage musicals.
