Beijing-based game company ZLONGAME announced on Thursday that its Langrisser Mobile smartphone game based on the Langrisser series will get a global version. The company will launch a "small-scale test" for the game soon, and will release the game next year.
The franchise's copyright holder Extreme authorized ZLONGAME to develop the game. ZLONGAME released the game in China in August. The game will feature 300 levels, all of the heroes from the main series, and a soundtrack composed by series composer Noriyuki Iwadare.
Kadokawa Games previously announced an upcoming mobile game for the franchise in August.
Nippon Computer Systems' software division Masaya released the first Langrisser game for the Mega Drive and PC in 1991, and it was also released in North America the same year under the title Warsong. The series went on to release four more main games, with Langrisser V: The End of Legend being released only in Japan in 1998 for the Sega Saturn. The games have been ported and remade on multiple occasions.
The latest entry in the series is Langrisser Re:Incarnation Tensei for the Nintendo 3DS, which shipped in Japan in July 2015, and in the West in April 2016. Kadokawa Games will release Langrisser I & II, a compiled remake of the first two games in the series, in Japan on February 7.
