Digimon Adventure tri. Anime Announces Franchise's New Project

Final Digimon Adventure tri. film premieres on Saturday

The official Twitter account for the Digimon Adventure tri. anime film project announced a new project in the Digimon franchise on Friday. The account tweeted an image of Agumon and the text, "The adventure evolves again━A new project starts!"

Digimon Adventure tri. Bokura no Mirai (Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 6: Our Future), the sixth and final film in the Digimon Adventure tri. project, will open in Japan on Saturday and screen for three weeks. As with previous films in the series, theaters screening the film will also sell a limited-edition Blu-ray Disc. The film will also be available to stream online for a fee on the same day in Japan.

The film's ending theme is the franchise's representative "Butter-Fly" song with the title "Butter-Fly ~tri.Version~." The singers of the song include the "DigiDestined" (Natsuki Hanae, Suzuko Mimori, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Mutsumi Tamura, Hitomi Yoshida, Junya Enoki, Junya Ikeda, M.A.O, Miho Arakawa), the "Digimon Singers" (Chika Sakamoto, Katori Shigematsu, Mayumi Yamaguchi, Takahiro Sakurai, Kinoko Yamada, Miwa Matsumoto, Junko Takeuchi, Yuka Tokumitsu, Yukiko Morishita), Ayumi Miyazaki, and AiM. Additionally, the song features late singer Kōji Wada's singing voice.

Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 1: Reunion opened in November 2015, Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 2: Determination opened in March 2016, Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 3: Confession opened in September 2016, Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 4: Loss opened in February 2017, and Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 5: Coexistence opened on September 30.

Crunchyroll began streaming all five films on the same day that they premiered in Japan. Shout! Factory has released the first four films for home video.

Fathom Events and Toei Animation are screening the fourth, fifth, and sixth films in theaters in the United States with an English dub. The fourth movie screened on February 1, the fifth movie will screen on May 10, and the sixth movie will screen on September 20. All screenings will be at 7:30 p.m. local time. Fathom Events shared and English-dubbed clip for the fifth film on Friday.
