Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima to Step Down on June 28

Nintendo announced at a Board of Directors meeting on Thursday that Representative Director and President Tatsumi Kimishima (pictured left in image at right) will retire on June 28. Shuntaro Furukawa will take up the position as both Representative Director and President.
Kimishima will assume office as an Executive Adviser. He assumed the roles as Representative Director and President in September 2015, succeeding Satoru Iwata after he passed away in July 2015.
Furukawa's current titles include Director; Managing Executive Officer; General Manager, Corporate Planning Department; Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Division; In charge of Global Marketing Department.
Furukawa was born in 1972 and he joined Nintendo in April 1994. He served as an outside director of The Pokémon Company starting in May 2012. He began serving as the General Manager of the Corporate Planning Department in July 2015, and began serving as a Director in June 2016.
