Hatsu Kiss Manga Magazine Goes Digital-Only on Monthly Schedule
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The May issue of Kodansha's Hatsu Kiss magazine announced on Friday that it is the final print issue. The magazine will switch to digital-only publication, and it will shift from bimonthly to monthly publication. The first digital issue will debut on June 25.
The magazine launched in June 2014 as the successor to Kodansha's Kiss Plus magazine, which ceased publication in February 2014. Hatsu Kiss focuses on "the fun of meeting for the first time."
Manga that the magazine has published include Mari Yamazaki's Steve Jobs, Bakka Okita's Tōmei na Yurikago (The Invisible Cradle), and Tsukiko's Batsukoi. The Steve Jobs manga concluded last June, but Tōmei na Yurikago and Batsukoi are still currently serializing. Tōmei na Yurikago is inspiring a live-action television series adaptation that will premiere on NHK on July 20.
