This year's May issue of Shueisha's Cookie magazine announced on March 26 that Ryo Ikuemi will end her Taiyō ga Miteiru (Kamoshirenai Kara) manga in the July issue on May 26.
Ikuemi launched the series in Cookie in March 2014 and Shueisha published the seventh compiled volume last September. The story follows Misaki and Nire, who made friends in middle school and are now entering the same high school. There, they meet Nire's childhood friend Kazuho.
Ikuemi's Pops manga inspired an original video anime in 1993, her Kiyoku Yawaku manga inspired a live-action film adaptation in 2013, and her Anata no Koto wa Sorehodo inspired a love-action television series in 2017. Most recently, Ikuemi's Principal manga inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan on March 3.
JManga digitally distributed Ikuemi's Cousin manga in English before also closing its doors.
