The anime is based on Bushiroad's Luck & Logic card game. The series centers on Liones Yelistratova, the naive princess of a small nation, who goes to Hokkaido to enter a school run by the ALCA. The school is dedicated to teaching Logicalists who uphold world peace. Liones enters Class S, and encounters many unique classmates, including Logicalist Nina Alexandrovena.
The anime premiered last July. Doga Kobo animated the series. Hiroaki Akagi (episode director for Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū, GJ Club) directed the series, and Yukie Sugawara (Sword Art Online, Sword Art Online II) handled the series composition. The anime featured original character designs by Yū Akinashi (Love, Election and Chocolate), Mari Shimazaki, Ariko, and Kana Kuramoto. Kyōko Nagata was credited with the original animation character plans, and Satomi Kurita (animation director for Haikyu!!, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) and Manabu Nii (Karneval) were the character designers. Ken Itō (Handa-kun) composed the show's music at Lantis. TRUE performed the show's opening theme song "Butterfly Effector," and main voice cast members Madoka Asahina, Hibiku Yamamura, and Natsumi Takamori performed the ending theme song "Baby Bird ~Gakuen Logic~."
Animax Asia previously aired the first Luck & Logic anime in March 2017. That anime premiered in Japan in January 2016. Bushiroad will discontinue the card game on April 27.
