Adaptation of Bushiroad card game premieres on March 22

Animax Asia announced on Wednesday that it will air the television anime adaptation of Bushiroad's Luck & Logic card game. The anime will premiere on March 22 at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8, and will air every Wednesday and Thursday with double episodes in the same time slot.

Animax Asia describes the anime:

In the year L.C. 922, mankind is faced with an unprecedented crisis.

Following the end of a hundred-year war on the mythical world of Tetra-Heaven, the defeated demon gods sought a safe haven and invaded the human world Septpia. The government is forced to fight by employing the Logicalists from Another Logic Counter Agency (ALCA), a special police force that protects the streets from foreigners. The Logicalists have a special power that allows them to enter a trance with Goddesses from the other world.

Yoshichika Tsurugi, a civilian who lacks “Logic”, meets the beautiful goddess, Athena, while helping people to escape from a demon god's attack. She wields the “Logic” that Yoshichika should have lost. This leads Yoshichika to an unexpected destiny with Athena.

The future of the world has been entrusted to the young Logicalists whose natures comprise “luck” and “logic”.

The anime premiered in Japan in January 2016.

Kōichi Chigira (Gate Keepers, Full Metal Panic!, Ryo) and Takashi Naoya (A Certain Scientific Railgun S, Selector Infected Wixoss episode animation director) directed the anime at Doga Kobo. Yuuya Takahashi (2015 Lupin III, Laughing Under the Clouds) was in charge of series composition and was also credited with the original concept. Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta game) drew the original character and concept designs, while Rei Aoi (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Psychic School Wars key animation) and Katsuhiro Kumagai (Samurai Flamenco, Witch Craft Works, Selector Spread Wixoss animation director) designed the characters for animation. Kenji Andou (Karas, King of Thorn, Rage of Bahamut) was responsible for creature design, while Hiroshi Tani (Majestic Prince, Plastic Memories) and Makoto Kobayashi (Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Last Exile, Simoun) handled mechanical design. Norimitsu Kaihō from Nitroplus was credited with "setting cooperation." Tatsuya Katou (Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club, Comet Lucifer, Celestial Method) composed the music.

Kenshō Ono performed the anime's opening theme "STORY," while Emi Nitta performed the ending theme "Meiyaku no Kanata."

A one-minute anime short titled Watashi-tachi Rakuroji-bu! (We Are the Luck & Logic Club!) aired before each episode.

The project is a collaboration between Bushiroad, Bandai Visual, Doga Kobo Nitroplus, Lantis, and Yuhodo. The game is getting a new television anime by Doga Kobo with a different story titled Hina Logi: from Luck & Logic in August. The new anime will follow the "cute everyday life of the Logicalist girls." A new season of the "Watashi-tachi, Rakuroji-bu!" short anime series will also debut in August.
