The April issue of Shueisha's Cocohana magazine revealed on Thursday that Ryo Ikuemi will end the G Senjō no Anata to Watashi (You and I on the G string) manga in the magazine's June issue on April 28. A chapter will not appear in next month's issue.
The manga centers on Yaeko Kogure, a woman who resigned from her company due to plans for marriage, only to have her fiancé break up with her on her last day. Confused and angry, she passes by a store that is playing Johann Sebastian Bach's iconic "Air" piece. Moved by the piece, she begins taking violin lessons for adults in the hopes of being able to play it.
Ikuemi published a one-shot of the manga in Cocohana in November 2012, before serializing the manga in April 2013. Shueisha published the manga's third compiled book volume last March.
Ikuemi recently ended the Watashi Sora Anata Watashi (Me-Sky-You-Me) manga in January.
Ikeumi's Pops manga inspired an original video animation (OVA) in 1993. JManga previously published her Cousin manga in English.
Ikuemi's Principal manga is inspiring a live-action film adaptation that opens in Japan on March 3. Ikuemi launched the manga in Shueisha's Cookie magazine in 2010, and ended it in 2013. Shueisha published seven compiled book volumes for the series.
