Puzzle & Dragons Game Gets New Pazudora TV Anime in April

The "Pazudora Project 2018" media unveiling event revealed on Thursday that the Puzzle & Dragons smartphone game is inspiring a new television anime titled Pazudora by Studio Pierrot. The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates in April.
The anime's story is set in the present day, and centers on Taiga Akaishi, a passionate boy who is aiming to become #1 in the world of professional gaming.
The cast includes Asuna Tomari as Taiga (seen left below), and Tetsuya Kakihara as Dragon, Taiga's friend (seen right).
Hajime Kamegaki is returning from the Puzzle & Dragons X anime to direct Pazudora. Shinzō Fujita (Duel Masters Cross, Future Card Buddyfight Battsu, Zero Duel Masters) is in charge of the series scripts.
The franchise is also inspiring a manga in Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comic magazine, starting on February 15. The magazine's February issue will have a preview of the manga on January 15.
Puzzle & Dragons X, based on the Nintendo 3DS game of the same name, premiered in Japan in July 2016. Funimation and Crunchyroll both streamed the series as it aired in Japan. The anime's second season premiered last April. A manga adaptation of the game also launched in Coro Coro Comics in April 2016. Momota Inoue (Puzzle and Dragons Z) drew the series. It ended last July.
