The company also began streaming a promotional video on Monday showing the game's battle system, characters, and systems, including "install genre" and "bug actions."
The game will launch in Japan on March 1. Those who pre-order the game will receive a bonus End Quest PC game on CD-ROM. The game's limited-edition "Death end BOX" features a specially designed box, a 68-page artbook, an original soundtrack CD, a bonus CD-ROM with promo videos and illustrations, and a clear visual poster set. The limited edition retails for 11,016 yen (about US$98), the standard edition retails for 7,776 yen (about US$69), and the download version retails for 6,912 yen (about US$61).

The game centers on protagonist Arata Mizunashi (voiced by Tatsuya Tokutake), who receives an email from the girl Shiina Ninomiya (Hisako Tōjō), who was reported as missing over a year ago. Arata finds out that Shiina had never logged out from the "World's Odyssey" virtual reality MMORPG, but the game's development had been cancelled long ago. Arata sets out to rescue the girl who is stuck in the bug-ridden game.
The game's staff includes scenario-writer Makoto Kedōin (Corpse Party), character designer Kei Nanameda, and monster designers Kia Asamiya (Silent Mobius, Corrector Yui) and Yuji Kaida (Ultraman, Godzilla). Steins;Gate character designer huke will provide guest character designs. Junya Ishigaki (The Vision of Escaflowne, Macross Frontier) is credited for "summon bug" design. Gesshoku Kaigi (18if) is credited for the theme song and is also credited for sound alongside Yuki Sugiura. Ichirō Kusaka is listed as "concept adviser."
The game is part of Compile Heart's Galapagos RPG brand, which also includes Fairy Fencer F, Omega Quintet, and Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force.
