Voice Actress Yurika Endō to Retire From Entertainment Career in May
posted on by Egan Loo
The talent agency Swallow announced on Sunday that voice actress Yurika Endō will retire from professional voice-acting, singing, and all similar entertainment work at the end of next May.
In her own statement on Swallow's website, Endō apologized for the sudden announcement. She explained that as the conditions changed over the course of her dream-like yet demanding five-year career, her health grew worse. She felt that she could not commit "120%" of her energy as she wanted, and after discussing the issue with many people numerous times, she decided on retiring to move forward with her life.
Swallow added that Endō's staff is looking into holding a solo live concert around the end of May.
Endō played such roles as Aina Mikage in Z/X Ignition, Tanako Kujirai in Magimoji Rurumo, Asuna Kangoshi in Comical Psychosomatic Medicine, Windom/Reika Shiragane in Kaiju Girls, Nozomi "Zomi" Momijidani in Angel's 3Piece, and Lisa Imai in BanG Dream! She also sang in most of these anime, including Z/X Ignition, Magimoji Rurumo, Kaiju Girls, and Angel's 3Piece, as well as Ace of Diamond and The Severing Crime Edge. She was part of the singing groups DŌP (with other Ace of Diamond voice actresses and members of the unit AŌP) and YURI*KARI (with Karin Takahashi).
