Fairy tale characters battle to the death in fantasy manga
Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Thursday that it has licensed Soraho Ina's Fairy Tale Battle Royale (Otogibanashi Battle Royale) manga. The first volume is slated for print and digital release on October 9, 2018.
The company will reveal new licenses every day this week. Fairy Tale Battle Royale is the first of three license announcements for Thursday.
Seven Seas describes the story:
Kuninaka Aoba is the target of bullies at school and wishes for nothing more than to be on good terms with her classmates. Her wish is granted, but at what cost? Suddenly, she's thrust down a rabbit hole, into a strangely familiar world from children's stories–only this version comes with a dark and gruesome twist. It's kill or be killed, in a fairy tale fight to the finish!
Ina launched the ongoing manga on the pixiv website in November 2016. Kadokawa published the second compiled book volume on September 27.
