The October issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazine revealed on Saturday that Shion Mizuki is ending the Macross Delta - Ginga o Michibiku Utahime (Macross Delta - The Songstress That Guides the Galaxy) manga in the magazine's next issue on September 27.

The manga spinoff focuses on Walküre member Freyja Wion and her daily life. Mizuki (Guilty Crown) launched the manga in Monthly Comic Rex in April 2016. Ichijinsha published the manga's second compiled book volume on April 27.

The franchise has also spawned other manga and a novel. Tatsuwo launched an ongoing direct adaptation of the television anime in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in April 2016. Kodansha published the manga's second compiled book volume on March 9. Kei Ichimonji launched Macross Delta Gaiden - Macross E in Kodansha's Magazine Special in May 2016, and ended it on January 20 when the magazine ceased publication. Kodansha published the manga's second and final volume on March 9. Azuki Fuji launched Macross Delta - Kuroki Tsubasa no Shiro Kishi (Macross Delta - The Black-Winged White Knight) in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero Sum magazine in April 2016 and ended it this past March. Ichijinsha published the manga's second volume on April 25.

The 26-episode Macross Delta television anime series ran from April to September 2016, after a preview of the first episode in 2015. The series is receiving an anime film project. The Macross franchise itself is also receiving a new television anime series in 2018 to commemorate the franchise's 35th anniversary.

The in-story idol unit Walküre also performs as an idol unit in real life, and the group has held several live events. The group's first album won the Animation Album of the Year award for the Recording Industry Association of Japan's (RIAJ) Japan Gold Disc Awards for 2017.
