posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
A net anime adaptation of Tōru Seino's Gohan Suki (I Love Rice) manga has been green-lit. It will have 10 episodes and will debut on Production I.G's "Tate Anime" (Vertical Anime) smartphone app on September 4, with a new episode premiering every Monday until November 6.
The nonfiction gourmet essay manga centers on the author describing his love for rice and the situations in his life that center around it.
Seino launched the manga in Fusosha's Weekly Spa! magazine in 2014. Fusosha published the manga's second compiled book volume in June 2016, and will ship the third volume on August 23.
The "Tate Anime" app launched on June 5. The app offers short (about three-minute) anime that updates every weekday, and each series will have 10 episodes. The new anime in the app are presented vertically for smartphones. The app is aimed at people who do not have time to watch television or do not own a television.
