posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
This year's 19th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that Shueisha is launching a new magazine titled Young Jump Gold on May 18. The magazine will launch with Keisuke Yamato's new manga Meishō.
The magazine will also include a relaunch of nojo's Pure Collector (pictured right). The series had ended in Shueisha's Miracle Jump magazine on February 28 when the magazine went on hiatus. Shueisha released the series' second compiled book volume on March 17.
Lynn Okamoto (Elfen Lied, Brynhildr in the Darkness) and Mengo Yokoyari's (Scum's Wish) Kimi wa Midara na Boku no Joō manga will transfer to the new magazine. The manga had been irregularly serialized in Young Jump. The manga launched with a one-shot in Young Jump in January 2012 and published more chapters irregularly in Miracle Jump. Shueisha released a compiled book for the series in 2013.
Additionally, the magazine will launch with a special spinoff of Minori Inaba's Minamoto-kun Monogatari manga and a special side-story of Aka Akasaka's Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai - Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen manga. Both manga are currently running in Young Jump. Minamoto-kun Monogatari launched in 2011 and shipped its 10th volume in November. The manga's 11th volume will ship on May 19. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai - Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen launched in Miracle Jump in 2015 before switching to Young Jump last year. The series shipped its fourth volume on January 19, and the fifth volume will ship on April 19.
The first issue of the magazine will feature a pin-up cover illustration of Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga. The nine-girl idol unit Aqours from Love Live! Sunshine!! will have gravure pictures in the magazine.
