Tribe Streaming Service Offers Aniplus Asia in the Philippines
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Recently launched streaming service Tribe is offering Southeast Asian anime channel Aniplus-Asia as part of its platform. The service is offering the channel's linear programming, as well as its on-demand library, all in Japanese audio with English subtitles. The linear programming includes the Aniplus-Asia's simulcast programming.
Aniplus-Asia previously announced in June that it is expanding to the Philippines and Thailand. Aniplus-Asia parntered with Omnicontent Management, Inc. to distribute the channel. At the time, Aniplus-Asia had not yet found a cable carrier for the channel.
While Southeast Asian streaming services HOOQ and iflix have a distribution deal with Aniplus-Asia that includes their catalog of anime, this did not include the channel's simulcast programming.
Tribe launched in Indonesia in November, and in the Philippines on Wednesday.
