This year's combined 36th and 37th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will announce Shueisha's new "MyJump" iOS and Android app on Monday. The app, which is also launching on Monday, will let readers be the "editor-in-chief" by choosing which manga they would like to see in the app.
The app has two different modes: "Weekly MyJump" and "MyJump Best." In "Weekly MyJump," users can subscribe to weekly chapters of several manga of their choosing. The magazine did not reveal the price of the service, but the first month will be free.
In "MyJump Best," users can collect various famous manga scenes.
Dragon Ball's Akira Toriyama designed the app's official mascot characters. The magazine also teases "lots of other fun features."
The magazine did not reveal which titles would be available in MyJump, but the teaser images included characters and panels from the following series: Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, Gintama, Kochikame, Kinnikuman, Video Girl Ai, Captain Tsubasa, Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro, The Prince of Tennis, Shaman King, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, Reborn!, Midori no Makibao, Ninku, and other older titles.
