NHK's LIFE! Comedy Variety Program Gets TV Anime

NHK announced on Wednesday that its LIFE! Jinsei ni Sasageru Konto comedy variety program will get a television anime adaptation starring comedy duo Teruyoshi Uchimura and Kiyotaka Nanbara. The first episode will air as part of the regular program on Thursday at 10:25 p.m.
The LIFE! Jinsei ni Sasageru Conto airs every Thursday on NHK. The comedy program focuses on skits that show the joy and sadness of life. The program has a stable of characters portrayed by different comedians.
Haruki Kasugamori (DD Fist of the North Star, Keroro) is directing the anime at Fanworks, while Aruji Morino (Hanoka) serves as an animator.
The anime's first episode is titled "Hikosuke, Hikoyoshi no Natsuyasumi" (Hikosuke and Hikoyoshi's Summer Vacation). Uchimura will play Hikosuke, and Nanbara will play Hikoyoshi. The NHK website will stream a behind-the-scenes video on the making of the anime. The anime's second episode will star Uchimura as the character Kanji Mitsutani, Gen Hoshino as Uso Tarō, Tsuyoshi Muro as the yōkai Dōshitarō Kashan, and Muga Tsukaji as the Squid King.
