posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The September issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine announced on Thursday that Minari Endo's Hatenkō Yūgi manga will go on hiatus starting with the next issue in August. The manga is slated to return in the January 2017 issue on November 28.
The manga also went on a 15-month hiatus from February 2012 to May 2013.
In Hatenkō Yūgi's story, the young teen Rahzel Anadis meets the handsome albino man Alzeid, who only cares about avenging his father's death. After Rahzel swears to him to make his life more fun and meet with their companion Baroqueheat the playboy, the three encounter secrets and mysteries that change their lives forever. Not even the travelers themselves know who they truly are.
Endo (Maria Holic) began the manga in 1999, and Ichijinsha released the 17th compiled book volume in Japan in March. Tokyopop published part of the manga in English as Dazzle.
A 10-episode anime adaptation aired in Japan in 2008. Sentai Filmworks announced this past March that it has licensed the series with plans to release it digitally and on home video. The company released the anime in a complete DVD collection on July 5.
