Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy Tops 100 Million Yen at Japanese Box Office

Anime distributor Aniplex announced on Wednesday that the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy film has sold 70,133 tickets for a total of 105,611,860 yen (about US$990,000) in the ten days since it opened in Japanese theaters.
The film opened on 44 screens in Japan on July 9 at #10 on Japan's weekly box office chart. The film sold 22,818 tickets for a total of 35,516,460 yen (about US$345,507) in two days.
Beginning on July 23, theaters will begin distributing three new types of image boards—featuring Nyx, Regis, and Glauca—as gifts to theatergoers. Theaters are currently distributing an image of Lunafrena.
The film will open in select theaters in the United States on August 19. The Blu-ray Disc containing the film will ship in Japan on September 30, the same day the Final Fantasy XV game ships.
