Kodansha Comics began streaming a video on Thursday featuring manga writer and artist Tsutomu Nihei. In the video, Nihei mentions that he would like to show a sneak peek of the upcoming anime film adaptation of his Blame! manga during his appearance at Comic Con International in July.
Polygon Pictures will animate the film project.
Nihei launched the science-fiction action story Blame! as his first manga series in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine in 1997, and ended it in 2003. Tokyopop published the 10-volume manga in North America. Kodansha published a new six-volume edition of the manga in Japan last year.
Comic Con International will run from July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center. The convention is also hosting Pokémon manga creators Hidenori Kusaka and artist Satoshi Yamamoto.
