posted on by Jabulani Blyden
Comic Con International announced last Monday that Pokémon Adventures manga's writer Hidenori Kusaka and artist Satoshi Yamamoto will appear as special guests at this year's convention. The convention will run from July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Kusaka (pictured right) is the writer of the Pokémon Adventures manga, which chronicles the events from the Pokémon games. Kusaka also edits children's books and plans mixed-media projects for Shogakukan's children's magazines.
Yamamoto (pictured left) is the artist of the Pokémon Adventures manga. He has been working on the manga since its 10th volume in 2001. Fujiko Fujio (Doraemon), Yukinobu Hoshino (2001 Nights), and Katsuhiro Ōtomo (Akira) are listed as some of his favorite manga creators.
Kusaka and Yamamoto are currently working on the Pokémon XY and the Pokémon Adventures: ΩRuby & αSapphire manga. Nintendo released Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire in 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS as remakes of the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire games for the Game Boy Advance. Viz Media releases the Pokémon: Black and White, Pokémon Adventures: Ruby & Sapphire, Pokémon Adventures: Platinum, Pokémon Adventures Diamond & Pearl, and other manga in the franchise in North America.
