Canada's Family CHRGD Channel Runs Iron Man Anime
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Canadian channel Family CHRGD revealed on its official website on Monday that it will air Madhouse's Iron Man television anime series beginning on May 7 at 11:30 a.m. ET. It will be the anime's television premiere in Canada. The show will have an encore broadcast at 5:30 p.m. on the same day.
Family CHRGD describes the show:
Billionaire CEO and engineering genius Tony Stark comes to Japan to build a pollution-free reactor based on his arc reactor technology. While holding a press conference, Stark announces his retirement as Iron Man and the introduction of a new model of Iron Man suit to be piloted by others. Just as Stark conducts a test flight of the new Iron Man suit, a mysterious robotic weapon appears and attacks Stark. This is only the beginning of a series of attacks by a high-tech organization called “Zodiac”, and Tony Stark must suit-up to defeat them.
The 12-episode Iron Man anime, based on the Marvel Comics character, was the first anime in Marvel Entertainment and animation Studio Madhouse's collaborative Marvel Anime project. The project also spawned the Wolverine, X-Men, and Blade television anime series in 2011, as well as the Iron Man: Rise of Technovore and the Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher films.
All four series aired on the G4 television channel in the United States, and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released all four series on DVD in North America in 2012. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment also released Iron Man: Rise of Technovore on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2013, and Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher in 2014.
