Sentai Filmworks announced via press release on Friday that it has licensed the Cobra The Animation: The Psychogun and Cobra The Animation: Time Drive original video anime (OVAs) in addition to the Cobra The Animation television anime.
Crunchyroll streamed the two OVAs before launching a simulcast of the 13-episode television series. The two OVAs first debuted in Japan in 2008 and 2009.
The original Space Adventure Cobra manga began in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1978, and the manga was already adapted by Osamu Dezaki into an animated television series and film in 1982. Urban Vision and later Discotek released the 1982 movie in North America. Nozomi Entertainment released the television series in North America.
