Noragami Manga Gets Stage Play Adaptation in January

Avex Pictures opened a website on Monday to announce that Adachitoka's Noragami manga is inspiring a stage play adaptation in January. Hiroki Suzuki (Yowamushi Pedal stage play's Yasutomo Arakita, Saiyuki Kageki-den -God Child- stage play's Genjo Sanzo) will star in the stage play as Yato.
Additional cast members include:
Keisuke Ueda (Yowamushi Pedal stage play's Sangaku Manami) as Yukine
Kasumi Hasegawa as Hiyori Iki
Ayaka Ando as Bishamon
Takuma Wada (Ace of Diamond stage play's Kazuya Miyuki) as Kazuma
Minami Itohara as Kofuku
Yūki Tomotsune (Yowamushi Pedal stage play's Jin Tadokoro) as Daikoku
The play will feature an original story by Adachitoka. Naohiro Ise (Peace Maker, Working!! stage plays) is directing and writing the script for the play.
The play will run at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo for eight performances from January 28-31. Presale tickets are on sale from November 17-29. Premium seating tickets come with a special bonus and cost 9,800 yen (about US$79). General seating tickets cost 6,800 yen (US$55).
Kodansha Comics is releasing Adachitoka's original manga in English as well as the Noragami: Stray Stories manga. The manga inspired a 12-episode TV anime series that premiered in January 2014, and Funimation streamed the series as it aired and released it on home video. The anime's second season Noragami Aragoto premiered on October 2, and Funimation is also streaming that series as it airs.
The limited editions of the 10th and 11th volumes of the manga each bundled an anime DVD when they shipped in February 2014 and July 2014, respectively. The limited editions of the 15th and 16th volumes are also bundling anime DVDs. The 15th volume shipped on Tuesday and the 16th volume will ship in March 2016.
