Mikako Takahashi Joins Food Wars! Anime Cast as Jun Shiomi

This year's combined 37th and 38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump will announce on Monday that Mikako Takahashi will join the cast of Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Sōma as Jun Shiomi. She will debut along with Junichi Suwabe as Akira Hayama in the anime's 19th episode on August 14.
The official website announced other prominent cast members for the upcoming arc last month: Junichi Suwabe as Akira Hayama, Saori Gotō as Nao Sadasuka, and Asami Seto as Miyoko Hōjō.
J.C. Staff is animating the series, which adapts Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Sōma comedy manga. The story follows Sōma, who works with his dad at his family's restaurant. His dad is a culinary master, and he often hosts cooking battles with his father. His father then enrolls him in an elite culinary school that is very difficult to enter, and the graduation rate is only about 10 percent.
The show premiered on April 3, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for home video.
