Princess Jellyfish's Higashimura Starts Manga Series in August
posted on by Egan Loo
The August issue of Kodansha's Morning two magazine is announcing on Monday that Akiko Higashimura will launch an unnamed new manga series in the following issue on August 22. Makiko Ida and Medaka Kurina will also publish the "Umigame Tamako-chan" (Sea Turtle Tamako-chan) and "Kinō, Seijo ga Shinda Kōhen" (Yesterday, A Holy Woman Died Part II) manga, respectively, on the same day.
Higashimura's Kuragehime manga inspired the 2010 Princess Jellyfish television anime series, which Funimation released in North America. She serialized her Kakukaku Shikajika manga in Cocohana magazine from the magazine's first issue in 2011 until this past January. This manga won the 8th Manga Taisho Award this year.
She is currently writing Tokyo Tarareba-jō for Kodansha's Kiss, and she launched the Sekka no Tora series in Shogakukan's Hibana magazine when the magazine launched in March. Her earlier series Omo ni Naitemasu inspired a live-action television series in 2012.
