posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
This year's April issue of Kodansha's Kiss magazine, which shipped on Monday, announced that Akiko Higashimura will launch a new series, titled Tokyo Tarareba Musume (Tokyo "What If" Girls), in the magazine's May issue, which ships on March 24. The ad also mentions that Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish (Kuragehime) will resume publication in the magazine's September issue, which ships July 25.
The new series will center on the love stories of three women who are around thirty during a Tokyo Olympics. The ad states that it is an "urban, sexy, fabulous, and bittersweet Tokyo story."
Higashimura previously serialized Meropon Deshi! and Omo ni Naitemasu manga Kodansha's Morning magazine. Kodansha published the 10th and final volume of Omo ni Naitemasu last March. The manga inspired a live-action television series last July. Kodansha shipped the second volume of Meropon Deshi! earlier this month
Higashimura's Kuragehime manga inspired the 2010 Princess Jellyfish television anime series, which Funimation released in North America.
Update: Issue of Kuragehime's return corrected. Thanks, Juhachi
Update 2: Romanization corrected from "Tokyo Tarareba-jō" to Tokyo Tarareba Musume.
