Shirobako Comiket Promo Recaps 1st Season

Warner Brothers Anime began streaming the Comiket 87 promotional video for the Shirobako anime on Tuesday. The video recaps the first season and reintroduces the cast along with Yoko Ishida's first opening theme "Colorful Box."

The promo also advertises the second Blu-ray and DVD box sets, shipping January 28, the prequel novel, shipping January 27, and the first volume of the manga spinoff, which ships on January 27. The manga, Shirobako ~Ueyama Kōkō Animation Dōkōkai~ (Shirobako: Ueyama High School Animation Club) stars Aoi and her friends during their high school days, but focuses on Ema. Mizutama draws the series in Kadokawa's Monthly Dengeki Daioh and Kenji Sugihara is writing the script.
Tsutomu Mizushima is directing the series at P.A. Works. Ponkan8 designed original characters and Kanami Sekiguchi adapted them for the anime series. Michiko Yokote is overseeing the series and Tsutomu Mizushima is directing the sound.
The main cast includes Juri Kimura as Aoi Miyamori, Haruka Yoshimura (Riddle Story of Devil, Sora no Method) as Ema Yasuhara, Haruka Chisuga as Shizuka Sakaki, Asami Takano as Misa Tōdō, Hitomi Ohwada, as Midori Imai, a student aiming to be a writer.
The series' 13th episode will debut January 8. The website is teasing "new colleagues" and "new challenges."
