Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- Gets Special Edition PS Vita System

The Sony Store in Japan will sell an exclusive special-edition PlayStation Vita portable system, with an original Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- design etching, in May. The limited-edition PS Vita will accompany the release of Kadokawa Games' Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- title, which after a delay, is now scheduled for May as well.
Kadokawa Games announced the game at the “Kadokawa Game Studio Media Briefing 2013 Autumn” event, and it will be Kadokawa Game Studio's second title. The original Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- (Fleet Collection) browser game's producer and director Kensuke Tanaka is again helming the project.
Kadokawa Games launched the original free-to-play browser game with the service provider DMM.com in April 2013. In the game, players compete with cards featuring female moe characters inspired by Japanese World War II warships such as aircraft carriers, battleships, and cruisers. Players build, organize, and repair their anthropomorphized fleet to progress through maps.
The original game is also inspiring a television anime. The anime will premiere in January.
