Sazae-san Celebrates 45th Anniversary With Musical Episode

The long-running Sazae-san anime is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a one-hour special that features a musical episode on October 5. The musical is one of five mini episodes in "Sazae-san Utatte Odotte Rocket made! Hōsō Kaishi kara Kyō de Pittari 45-nen Special" (Sazae-san: Singing and Dancing to the Rocket! 45-Years-From-Premiere-to-Today Special). (The regular half-hour Sazae-san episode is usually made up of three mini stories.)
The first episode, "Tama no O-uchi" (Tama's Home), will revolve around a cat house that is the traditional folk craft of the Nakano region. The musical episode "Let's Go Sazae-san" will then celebrate the 45th anniversary. The special will end with a three-part arc about Sazae's family visiting Tanegashima, Japan's real-life space center.
