Animaga Expo on in Melbourne This Weekend

Animaga Expo aims to kick off the first of many "interactive conventions" with a bang. Held at the historic Royal Exhibition Building, Animaga plans to provide an excellent venue for cosplaying alongside traders, gaming, gunpla, karaoke, artwork and anime screenings.

• Where: Royal Exhibition Building, 9 Nicholson St, Carlton VIC 3053.
• When: Saturday the 27th (9:00am to 7:00pm) and Sunday the 28th (9:00am to 5:00pm) of September 2014.
• Cost: Tickets start from $25 online and $30 at the door for a single day pass, $40 online and $45 at the door for a weekend pass. Groups of ten, concession and child tickets are available.

Highlights

The Animaga website is a tad confusing and there is no schedule available on the site, however Animaga's facebook page has posted a schedule here). Here's a couple of our highlights.

• Saturday

• 11:00am - Manga Drawing Tutorial. Drawing Area.
• 3:00pm - Cosplay Runway. Main Stage.
• 5:00pm - Anime Idol Karaoke. Main Stage.

• Sunday

• 12:00pm - Copic Tutorial. Drawing Area.
• 2:30pm - Cosplay Competition. Main Stage.

Animaga will be running a Maid Cafe for both days, open from 10:00am on until 5:00pm on Saturday and 9:00am to 3:00pm on Sunday. There will also be a gaming area and the Gunpla workshop running all day and a variety of Madman anime will be screening in the Madman Screen Area on both days.
