Voice actress Sakura Nogawa announced on Friday that she was able return to work after recovering from poor health for the past year. Her record label had announced in August 2013 that she would be taking a break from her singing and voice acting activities, as well as events.
The first time that her fans can hear her voice again after the long hiatus is in Strike Witches: Operation Victory Arrow Vol. 1, which opened in Japanese theaters on Saturday. As in previous Strike Witches anime, she plays the twins sisters Erica and Ursula. She also sang the ending theme song.
Nogawa has played a number of other roles in anime, including Lunar Edomae in My Bride is a Mermaid, Mizuki Sakaki and Yui Arisugawa in Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~, Nemu Asakura in D.C. ~Da Capo~, and Kaorin in Azumanga Daioh. In video games, she has played Misha Arsellec Lune and Mei Mei in Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia, White Eris in Rune Factory Frontier, and Philomel Hartung in Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis. She has also performed many theme songs for anime, including the ending theme for Strike Witches 2 and the opening theme for Final Approach and Slap Up Party: Arad Senki-.
