The 18th volume of Yūya Kanzaki's Ouroboros - Keisatsu o Sabaku wa Ware ni Ari- manga is announcing on Saturday that a live-action television adaptation has been green-lit. Toma Ikuta (Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e, We Were There, Akihabara @ DEEP, Honey and Clover, Mogura no Uta) and Shun Oguri (Lupin III, Captain Harlock, Detective Conan, Hana Yori Dango, Space Brothers) will star in the television series, which will premiere on TBS and its affiliates next January.
In the story, Ikuo Ryūzaki and Tatsuya Danno have vowed vengeance against the men behind an organization that caused the death of a beloved figure in their childhood. Ryūzaki became a police officer, while Danno became a criminal. Together, they secretly plan to take down the corrupt police system behind it all.
Kanzaki launched the manga in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine in 2009. The magazine had revealed last month that the manga's 18th volume will have an "important announcement."
