Action-adventure indie game originally created for PC in 2006
Video game publisher Rising Star Games announced on Tuesday that it will release NIGORO and Pygmy Studio's 2D action-adventure game La-Mulana EX in North America later this year. The original game was remastered for PlayStation Vita for this release.
Rising Star describes the story:
Set in the fabled ruins of La-Mulana, players will help Professor Lemeza Kosugi embark on an exciting but incredibly deadly adventure. Armed at first with only his trusty whip, he'll traverse through the lost city, finding treasures and discovering a bounty of unexplored caves, unsolved riddles and ravenous monsters. But with the ruins having claimed the lives of everyone that has ever entered, will Lemeza be able to survive in the quest to find the secret to life itself?
The PS Vita port of the 2006 indie PC game is slated for release in Japan in December. The game was also remade for download on Wii and PC in 2011. NIGORO launched a Kickstarter for La-Mulana 2, which was successfully funded in February.
Rising Star took over Marvelous AQL's U.S. publishing business in 2012. The company released the Beyblade: Evolution 3DS game last year.
