Tekken 7 Arcade Fighting Game's 1st Trailer Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
Bandai Namco Games unveiled the first trailer for the "arcade game Tekken 7" in English and Japanese at the Evo 2014 (Evolution Championship Series) competition on Sunday:
Tekken series producer Katushiro Harada acknowledged that he had not planned on announcing the latest installment in the Tekken fighting game franchise at Evo 2014. However, he had "no choice but to announce" it when the game's logo appeared during a projection test earlier at Evo 2014, followed by a IGN news reel that was briefly posted on AOL Video. Harada added that he "had to go back to my hotel room right away when I found out to put" this trailer together, since he did not have one already prepared.
While the above trailer is listed for an "arcade" game, the IGN news video quoted Harada, "With Unreal Engine 4, we can rapidly achieve the visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it. Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it allows us to easily bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire."
According to the trailer, Bandai Namco Games will reveal more information at its Comic-Con International panel in San Diego on July 25. Harada added there are two more unannounced games in development.
