Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that it added the original video anime Super Robot Wars Original Generation - The Animation to its catalog. It also added Masakazu Ishiguro's short story manga collection Present for Me and Yoshito Usui's Crayon Shin-chan manga, as well as updated its mobile manga app.
All three Super Robot Wars Original Generation - The Animation episodes are now available for premium members. Free members will be able to watch the OVA next month. Crunchyroll describes the story:
Dr. Jurgen of DC developed a global defense system to combat potential alien threats. This system has two elements. First is the VTX-001 Vartoul unmanned anti alien PT. Governing these drones is the ODE worldwide network system. However, this system has a noteworthy secret. A living human is needed to control the ODE core. Furthermore, the ODE core needs human organs to support itself. At the present day, the drone have gone on a mass abduction spree. Kyosuke and co has been sent in to take care of the problem.
Media Blasters licensed the OVA and Super Robot Wars OG: Divine Wars television series last year and released both on DVD last month.
Both Present for Me and Crayon Shin-chan are available now worldwide except in Japan. The defunct service JManga previously offered Present for Me online, and ComicsOne, CMX Manga, and One Peace Books have published Crayon Shin-chan in North America.
