Cartoon Network/Spin Master series inspires robot acion game this summer

Namco Bandai Games America announced on Thursday that it will release the Tenkai Knights: Brave Battle game for Nintendo 3DS in the Americas this summer. The robot action game draws inspiration from the Tenkai Knights animated series that Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd (Sho-Pro) and the Canadian toymaker Spin Master Entertainment are running on Cartoon Network:

In the story, Guren, Ceylan, Toxsa and Chooki accidentally fall through an inter-dimensional portal. When they find themselves on the other side, the group are on another world and have assumed the mantles of Bravenwolf, Tributon, Valorn, and Lydendor — otherwise known as the legendary Tenkai Knights.

According to Namco Bandai:

Players will step into the role of one of the four Tenkai Knight heroes and engage in 2D robot combat in either the mission-based Story mode to live the Tenkai Knight experience or compete against up to three friends in the Versus mode to determine who is the strongest. In order to become the most powerful hero, players will be able to customize their robot's parts, enter various unit modes to support allies in battle, and modify their battle styles to exploit their enemy's weaknesses. With the fate of two worlds in their hands, players must master their Tenkai powers, dive into the thick of battle and defeat Vilius and The Corrupted once and for all!

The anime premiered in August and will run for 52 episodes. It also has tie-in webisodes and a toy line. The series is being distributed in North and South America by Spin Master, in Europe by Viz Media Europe, and in Asia by Sho-Pro. Spin Master also collaborated with Cartoon Network to release another animated franchise with toys, Bakugan Battle Brawlers.
