BONES' Soul Eater Not! TV Anime Previewed in 1st Promo Video
posted on by Egan Loo
The first promotional video for the television anime of Atsushi Ohkubo's Soul Eater Not! spinoff manga debuted at the Comic Market 85 event on Sunday.
The video begins by noting that publisher Square Enix and anime studio BONES collaborated on the original 2008-09 Soul Eater anime. Now, five years later, the two join forces again for the Soul Eater Not! anime. The story centers around the cheerful campuse life of three students at Death Meister and Weapon Academy:
Tsugumi Harudori (center), the ordinary 14-year-old girl in love with love
Anya Hepburn (right), the antagonistic tsundere (initially aloof and abrasive, but later kind-hearted) "princess"
Meme Tatane (left), the ditzy, forgetful girl
The Soul Eater Not! manga returned from hiatus in October after the main Soul Eater manga ended in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in August. It launched in 2011, and Square Enix published its third compiled book volume on December 12. Yen Press is publishing both the Soul Eater and Soul Eater Not! manga in North America. The franchise has over 16 million copies in print worldwide.
