Perth's Wai-Con to host Chris Sabat in 2014

posted on by Jon Hayward
The Perth based anime convention Wai-Con has announced that they will be bringing over Chris Sabat for Wai-Con 2014;

The news was announced through the Wai-Con website and facebook page on the 29th of November 2013. The next event will be held on the 1st and 2nd of March 2014 at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Additionally Wai-Con has also been looking for new master of ceremonies after the previous host, John Robertson, was banned from the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre for crowd-surfing his way out of the 2500 seat theatre (he has since moved to the UK and his show "The Dark Room" was a hit at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival). In the lead-up to the announcement of the new MC, Wai-Con's cosplay co-ordinator, Eugene O'Sullivan, has produced videos to promote interest in the new MC. You can view Quest for the Wai-Con Emcee part one "Journey to the West" and part two "The Malteser Falcon" on Wai-Con's website and more parts will be released in the near future.

Chris Sabat

Chris Sabat has voiced everything, most famously known as Vegeta, Yamcha and Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z he was also responsible for the ADR direction for the Dragon Ball Z and helped produce many titles that we know and love today. Chris has also voiced Alex Louis Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist, Daisuke Jigen in a series of Lupin the III specials, Elfman in Fairy Tail and Roronoa Zoro in One Piece. ANNAU previously spent five minutes with Chris Sabat back in 2009 and can definitely say that his insight into anime voice acting and production is well worth any fan's time. And Chris also revisited Perth in 2013 for Oz Comic-Con.
