posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
This year's 46th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the nine volumes of Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga have 12 million copies in circulation. The manga had about half that number at the start of the year. The series was one of Japan's top-selling series of 2012, ranking at #7 last year with an estimated 3,603,710 copies sold.
The manga is inspired a television anime which aired in Fuji TV's Noitamina block. Aniplex USA licensed the series in North America, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
The manga is also inspiring a live-action film starring Kento Nakajima next spring.
