Crunchyroll to Stream Hajime no Ippo Rising Anime

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream the third season of the Hajime no Ippo anime series, Hajime no Ippo Rising. Crunchyroll will stream the series on Saturdays starting on October 5 at 2:00 p.m. EDT for members in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
Jun Shishido (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, The Princess and the Pilot) will direct the anime at Madhouse and MAPPA from scripts by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes). Kōji Sugiura (Hajime no Ippo, Mobile Suit SD Gundam Festival) will be designing the characters, and Masafumi Mima (Hajime no Ippo - Champion Road, Guilty Crown) will serve as sound director.
The series stars Rikiya Koyama as Mamoru Takamura, Daisuke Namikawa as Manabu Itagaki, Keiji Fujiwara as Tatsuya Kimura, Kohei Kiyasu as Ippo Makunouchi, and Wataru Takagi as Masaru Aoki.
George Morikawa's original long-running manga has spawned two television anime series, an original video anime project, and a TV special. Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, the second season of the anime, aired in 2009.
Hajime no Ippo Rising will premiere in Japan on October 5.
