The April issue of Shueisha's shōjo manga magazine Ribon shipped on Saturday with a "Ribon x Hatsune Miku: Vocaloid Complete Handbook" included as a bonus. The magazine also announced that the June issue will launch a Vocaloid-related series.
In the handbook, the magazine describes Vocaloid, saying, “Vocaloid is so popular that it even has songs at karaoke!” Manga creators Mayu Sakai (Nagata-chō Strawberry, Rockin' Heaven) and Yōko Maki (Aishiteruze Baby, did their own illustrations of Hatsune Miku (pictured center bottom) and the siblings Kagamine Rin and Len (leftmost), respectively, in the handbook. Haru Karuki (Rozen Maiden dolls talk) drew Meiko (center top), Yuka Fujiwara drew Kaito (top right), and Nana Haruta (Stardust Wink) drew Megurine Luka (bottom right).
The handbook also introduces popular Vocaloid song "Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru (Shite Yan Yo)," as well as introducing the various characters in the Vocaloid franchise. Also included are "Vocaloid Fortunes" and "Multiple-choice Vocaloid Quiz" games for readers to play.
