TOKIO band member Tomoya Nagase (Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Sword of the Stranger) will star in the live-action drama Naku na, Hara-chan (Don't Cry, Hara-chan) as a manga character who comes to life.
The romantic comedy series revolves around a plain woman who works in a kamaboko (fish paste) factory who writes a manga instead of a diary to record her frustrations. The manga is about a man named Hara-chan who is always drunkenly crying about his problems at a cheap bar. One day, Hara-chan comes to life and falls in love with the woman.
Yoshikazu Okada (Ohisama, Churasan) is handling the show's screenplay. The staff from the Yōkai Ningen Bem live-action drama are returning for this series. Hidehiro Kawano (Yōkai Ningen Bem, My Boss My Hero) is producing the series. Manga creator Bibuo (Shanghai Charlie) is producing the manga images for the series.
The series is set to premiere on NTV on Saturdays starting in January.
