Senran Kagura Fans Vote on Who to Put on Buttocks Mousepad

The Japanese game company Marvelous AQL announced on Monday that it is hosting a "Buttocks Mousepad Contest" for Senran Kagura Burst -Guren no Shōjo-tachi-, its upcoming Nintendo 3DS side-scrolling action game with female ninja. DS Game Café, a nationwide chain of Internet cafés, will let visitors vote on which character's "buttocks I want to see" from August 30 to October 1. Voters can submit their picks via their Nintendo 3DS or DS units at any of the café branches.

On October 3, DS Game Café's website will annnounce the top vote-getter, and her figure will grace the mousepad in an illustration drawn by Nan Yaegashi, the game's original character designer. 100 voters will receive the mousepad in a random drawing.

Senran Kagura Burst -Guren no Shōjo-tachi- arrives in Japan on Thursday, and the franchise has a television anime adaptation in the works. Marvelous Entertainment released the original Senran Kagura video game in September 2011 on the Nintendo 3DS, and a manga adaptation has been serialized in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine since last October.

Marvelous AQL gave away themed facial tissues to promote the game in April, and the Cafe Euro in Tokyo's Akihabara district is currently offering two desserts that recreate the game's trademark imagery.
