Fairy Tail Film Opened with Weekend's #1 Per-Screen Average

Fairy Tail: Hōō no Miko, the first Fairy Tail anime film, opened in Japanese theaters on Saturday and received the highest per-screen average of any film at the Japanese box office this past weekend. Kogyo Tsushinsha ranked the film at #9 in overall box office receipts in Japan this weekend, but the film played in only 73 theaters.
The #1 film at the Japanese box office this past weekend was Joss Whedon's The Avengers.
